TERMITES ATE MY FLOOR

I WILL  NOT HAVE TIME TO POST FOR A LITTLE WHILE, AS TERMITES HAVE BEEN EATING THE FLOOR OF MY 63 YEAR OLD HOUSE BECAUSE SOME NIM-WHIT LEFT THE CONCRETE FORMS UNDER OUR FRONT PORCH AND NOW OUR CRAWL SPACE IS SWARMING WITH TERMITES!  FREAKING OUT?  YES.

YOU HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH QUALITY TERMITE CONTROL?  PLEASE COMMENT, PLEASE….

ATHENA

THE GODDESS OF WISDOM AND WARFARE

See definition of “athena” below

Running tomorrow in my own version of a marathon, the Salt Lake City 5K.  Starts at Liberty Park and finishes at the Gateway fountain and my goal is to jog nonstop and finish in less than 43 minutes.  For someone who has struggled her entire life to finish 1 mile without walking, 3.3 miles is the equivalent of a marathon for my body.  32 lbs ago I could not have run a block without severe pain in my joints and today I can finish 4 miles in under an hour and I feel great.  As a registered Athena runner (racing category based on weight rather than age) I plan to use my wisdom and warfare attitude to the end with a smile on my face and proud that I have turned a corner in my life.

DIRTY THIRTY

I finally reached my 30 lb weight loss mark!  It has taken 26 weeks of hard work and I still have 43 lbs to go to get to my goal weight.  I have been playing tennis twice a week, running 3.6 miles 5 times/ week, and Yoga once a week.  I still see a dietitian every Wednesday and she is amazing.  The weight is melting off and she is so great at working through all the emotional garbage and I feel like I have a new loan on life.

To celebrate, Kday and I are spending a healthy weekend in Moab.  Riding bikes and running in sunny red rock is the best way to continue to feed the fire of happiness that is burning inside my heart.
