Apparently my services aren’t very needed or desired:) Shishka BOB attempted to make an offer, then realized that he would have to really make a good one to get me there at 8am! Offer is still on the table, I keep telling myself that it’s like ebay auctions…. the action and excitement doesn’t occur until the last few min. *REMEMBER: AUCTION CLOSES AT 7PM TOMORROW!
Can’t wait for it! I will be auctioning off 1 offer for a feed this year. Last year’s feed list of 6 riders was ridiculous. I am sure that I am really not as needed as I’d like to think and nobody really needs my FZ skills offered. However, if your willing to stroke my ego and make an offer, you might just get a lucky feed from Sday.
HERE YE, HERE YE:
THE AUCTION FOR 1 FEED DURING SATURDAY’s PRO RACE IS ON THE TABLE. BIDDING WILL BEGIN AT: 1 ICE COLD DIET COKE WITH CRUSHED ICE AND 3 SLICES OF LIME. Please post offers in comment section. The bidding will be closed at 7pm Friday June 27 2008. Good Luck!
I’m taking this moment to describe how nice it’s been to be somewhat “race-less” this season. Kday and I have made actual improvement on the home improvement projects, finished our Home-Study, gone out on Friday and Saturday night because we don’t have to get as much sleep and K’s not so tired in the PM. I stopped in at Biker’s Edge on Friday to pick up K’s new road bike and Johnny even mentioned how nice it is to have a sat off here and there. I must not be as die hard as I originally claimed to be. Last weekend I played a few hours of tennis and bloodied my feet in my new shoes. I demo’d a few rackets because my old ones from college are cracked from over-stringing. All that being said, I actually miss the race scene, the friends I see there, the conversations in the FZ, the fresh air and excitement of the ICUP.
P.S. Kday is trying to persuade me that he isn’t going to race NORBA this year. PLEASE TELL HIM THAT WITH HIS RESULTS AND SITUATION, HE NEEDS TO RACE! HE JUST NEEDS A LITTLE FIRE LIT UNDER HIM… here’s some matches:)
I have officially been stuck at a 40 lb weight loss for 3 weeks now. I guess it’s time to increase the running and decrease the calorie intake. Other news, I have moved up to the 4.0 tennis workout and hope to compete on a 4.5 league next month. A little mix up at the USTA and they rated me at a 5.5 level. Yea…. I wish.
Registration was a blast as always and it was good to be back on the scene mingling with the best of the best in MTB racing. The weather was perfect and company was even better! Team KUHL had a great showing and really represented this weekend. Kday had a great 15 minutes at the beginning of lap 1 and held his spot around 5 or 6th for the majority of the race. I was a little bummed when waiting for the feed after lap 3 prior to starting the 12 and Under lap. Mitchell, Alex, Bart (the usuals) all rolled by and then a few more, followed by Jonny, Jake, T-Foss and then some. Where was Kday? BONKED. Finished in lucky #11 but with a smile on his face. Some great things have been happening around us and I don’t think he really cared about his results. I sucked at checking results in other categories than Pro because I had more important things on my mind. However, I would like to note that Skid came in 1 second behind 1st place in the Expert Men 19-29.
We passed our home evaluation with flying colors (I only allow for 100% perfection or else it’s considered failing in my book) and our adoption profile will be uploaded and available on line in about 10-14 days. We are so excited. 3 years to get to this point and 6 months of paperwork on top of that.
I will not be making an appearance at the DV race on 6/7. I’m totally disappointed in my level of support this year at the I-cups and will have to redeem myself in order to maintain a blog about feed zones:)
P.S. Skid…. haven’t you been riding long enough to know that you should “never cross the finish line unless you are FINISHING!!!” Ed was pissed:) I was smiling…
Quick and Dirty: Kday blew up his derailleur during his warm up lap, then the borrowed bike flatted 10 min into lap 1. DNF
Bart’s little Eva is just about the cutest thing to see in the FZ, along with Jude, and Finnley. Lots of little mini riders showing their support this weekend. My list of feeds filled up quickly with Jonny Hintze, Kday, BZ, and Stupidbike. There was a fairly good showing of Pro’s and of coarse Bart and AG maintained their reign of the top two spots on the podium. Third place was rounded up by the lucky Chris Holley and Taylor Foss of team KUHL placed fourth. By the end of the muddy race 14 of the 19 starters finished. The weather was nice, perfectly warm enough to get a tan but not too hot that Kash couldn’t chill in the FZ. We’ve missed Rosie the last few races since she just added baby #2 to the list of accomplishments.
I’m out of the FZ at Soldier Hollow while prepping our house for our Adoption Home Study. MFTFZ will be back with a report at Stan Crane Memorial the week after.
I am passing on the race tomorrow because I have a brain. Sorry bikers but this race is miserable to spectate and to get to. In all honesty, I have a tennis match to attend. I will miss getting the latest gossip from the Feed Zone and catching up with all my lovely friends, otherwise known as “the better halves.” Ladies, enjoy the dust and the drive out to the race, riders, enjoy the view of a spandex butt in front of you for a few hours. My next appearance at a FZ will be at Soldier Hollow. Next week I will be missing Sherwood Hills because I am running The Race for the Cure 5K.
S-day minus 40 lbs.
